At the University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT), we are committed to building a strong and sustainable education system that meets the technological needs of our country. We aim to provide a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes excellence in the computing domain. Our goal is to produce graduates who are knowledgeable, skilled, responsible, and hardworking.
Our degree programs are accredited by the National Computing Education Accreditation Council under the Higher Education Commission. We follow Outcome-Based Education (OBE) standards in line with national and international requirements to ensure high-quality education. We also maintain strong connections with industry, which help our students gain practical exposure, internships, and job opportunities. Regular feedback from industry experts helps us continuously improve and update our curriculum according to modern demands.

About Department
The University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT) was established at the PMAS Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Pakistan to address the growing need for skilled professionals in software development and technology. Since its inception in 2001, UIIT has grown significantly and now offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Software Engineering and Computer Science with specialization in General Computing & Artificial Intelligence. The institute currently serves around 1,900 undergraduates, 90 postgraduates, and has a Ph.D. program in Computer Science. Our well-equipped computer labs provide a conducive learning environment for research and development.
UIIT is committed to contributing to the national effort to produce world-class human resources by developing a sustainable IT education system that meets the country’s technological needs.

Degree Programs
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) - AI, SE, GC, Accredited By NCEAC-HEC
The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)/A- Levels (involving a minimum of 12 years of schooling) or an IBCC-equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks. Studying Mathematics at the Intermediate level is the basic eligibility requirement for admission to all BS Computer Science programs. Students who have not studied Mathematics at the Intermediate level are required to pass deficiency courses in Mathematics (06 credit hours) during the first year of their degree program. The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in Intermediate (Part-I) in one of the following streams: Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, ICS, DAE Or an equivalent qualification recognized by IBCC.
MS(CS)-Morning Program Specializations in Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering
BCS(Hons.)/BS(CS)/BS(IT)/BS(SE) degree of 4 years duration with minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00 or equivalent qualification from HEC. MIT/MCS/M.Sc (CS) with 2.50/4.00 CGPA. Must have passed University Entrance Test.
Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Information)/Cyber Security
The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)/A- Levels (involving a minimum of 12 years of schooling) or an IBCC-equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks. Studying Mathematics at the Intermediate level is the basic eligibility requirement for admission to all BS Computer Science programs. MS/M.Phil with first division in the relevant field or CGPA of at least 3.00/4.00. Must have passed University GRE Type Subject Test with 70% marks or equivalent qualification from HEC . The Ph.D applications must be accompanied by comprehensive project proposals along with consent letter from concerned supervisor with justification of resources.

| It is hereby notified for the information of all applicants seeking admission to the undergraduate degree programs (BSCS, BETI, BET Cyber Security) at UIIT, that admission is granted on a purely provisional basis. Final confirmation of admission shall be subject to fulfillment and verification of the following requirements within the prescribed time. |

Research
University Institute of Information Technology is building its research foundations in a systematic track. At undergraduate level, UIIT contributes in Applied Computing by producing software projects. More than two hundred software projects has been successfully completed, among those several projects have received national acclaim in many software competitions. Literary contribution in different domains has been done by several graduate level students under supervision of UIIT faculty members. Since beginning, UIIT has a strong emphasis on improving quality of its education. This continuous improvement is being done through research oriented techniques. In this regard several interest groups of relevant domains are formulated. These interest groups works on identifying latest updates of their specific domain.
