External Linkages

Introduction

Universities are always considered as hub of new knowledge and innovative technology which is to be ultimately used for the welfare of the society. The dream of a standard and demand driven education can only be materialized if the academics and research pursuits of universities are in line with what is actually required in the existing industries. In order to see the big picture and to be part of total change in the economy, external linkages are very much important so as to standardize and globalize the brands of education and its attributes across various sectors in the economy. Moreover, universities can attract funds from various stake holders for research and development (R & D) to achieve all such scholarly goals. Many of the public and private sector organizations can market their soft as well as hard products through the window of universities. In this way, when universities are linked to any public or private sector organizations both within the country and abroad, there is a kind of win-win situation.

With the great passion and emerging wisdom of the Vice Chancellor of this University, it would surely be a matter of great pleasure for all and sundry that the Directorate of External Linkages has been established in the campus for actively contributing in the field of education and development. The fundamental goal of this initiative is to expose the quality products including academic products of this University in addition to seek financial and technical support from the potential partners at national and international levels. Some of the specific objectives of this Directorate are given here under.

  1. To take public, private and non-governmental organizations on board for achieving the main goals of education, research and development in various faculties in the university.
  2. To keep the faculty and graduate students interactive with the respective organizations where in future the graduates of various disciplines can be marketed.
  3. To explore new avenues for funding in research and development both for the faculty members and Ph.D. students.
  4. To stay the relevant institutes involved in the research and development process so as to find a marketable product.
  5. To link with public policy stake holders for seeking directions and providing policy input.
  6. To conduct seminars, workshops, symposiums and conferences in collaboration with public and private organizations.
  7. To monitor the academic functioning of sub-campuses.
